Do you remember how you felt when you were a kid and your parent or grandparent surprised you with something? Remember that feeling of excitement joy rushing through your body? That's what I felt when my Dad brought home my very first kitten.
I was only 6 years old. Each and every Saturday morning my Dad would be the first one to wake up and shower, read the paper and make coffee. On one special morning he told me he was going to the market and wanted to know if I wanted anything there while he was out. I let him know I'd like some chewing gum and he said sure. I waited for him to come back, as I was excited to have some gum.
About an hour later my Dad came back but he did not have the pack of gum that I was expecting. Instead he was carrying the cutest kitten I had ever seen! I was so happy that he got me a kitten. I had been asking him for weeks to have a cat. My kitten was so cute and had the best looking fur. He was deigned beautifully with orange and white tabby stripes. On top of that he was so nice and constantly purred.
Of course I totally forgot about the gum because I got a new baby kitten. I named him Ralphy and he was one of the best cats I've ever had. There would be times when I wasn't feeling well and Ralphy would come lay next to my head and knead his paws into my hair. It would feel so good getting a massage on my head and having him purring at the same time. It was a very comforting feeling and that is one reason why I'm such a cat lover.
I won't ever forget that special day when my Dad surprised me with the cutest little kitten ever. It's amazing that I still remember this morning after so many years. Surprise gifts are the best and you can be young or old to enjoy them!
