They are generally healthy, except of rarely noticed possible recessive disorder that can cause blindness in early age.

Although Bengals come from a line of wild animals, they can really be perfect pets. Even so, the first three generations are strictly reserved for breeding purposes only. After that, they are perfectly adapted for family life. They often have their own opinion about many things, and they won't be so happy sitting in your lap all day long, but they will enjoy sleeping somewhere near you.

Generally, they are divided into two groups, brown spotted and snow spotted. The fact is they come in other colors as well, and they can also be marbled, in both groups. Some might have rosette markings. It means that every spot is dark lined. If these spots include three colors and interesting shapes, they are highly appreciated, especially on exhibitions.

Snow Bengals are very attractive, especially if they have blue eyes, both spotted and marbled variations. Snow Bengals with blue eyes make separate group. All other eye colors are in the other group, including green, gold and brown eyes. The seal lynx with blue eyes and golden or green eyed seal sepia are sometimes called Snow leopard spotteds.

Marbled Bengals have interesting swirls of brown spots flowing horizontally. Ocelot-like patterns that flow more horizontally are especially appreciated. This lovely pattern occurs in lynx, sepia and mink. The dark outlining of coat markings, or rosettes, may also occur in marbled Bengal cats.

Physically, Bengals are more alike their wild ancestors, but much smaller up to fifteen pounds of weight. The hair is short and smooth, preferably glossy. These curious animals are playful and friendly, and the most interesting thing is that they actually love water. They will allow you to walk them on the leash, and enjoy your company.

When you find Bengal cats for sale, make sure to understand more about these animals before buying them. Although they enjoy the companionship of both children and adults, they sometimes require more attention than other domestic cats. Even so, once you get to know them, you will be positively surprised how intelligent and affectionate they really are.
