If possible, it is recommended that dogs get trained while they are young as it is at this period that they can learn habits better and easily since its their first time to learn any of these tricks. Conversely, the mature ones can also learn only that it may take longer as they have to first abandon their old habits before adopting the new ones.

Some times coaching is more effective when its done by their owner as the pet is more likely to trust and obey their owner than any other trainer. For instance, teaching the to go to the bathroom should be done by always showing the spot they should use any time they need to go to the bathroom. One should also learn what their pet like which is best done by leashing them and walking them in the compound and just observing their behavior.

In home dog training has in the past years been recognized as one of the most effective techniques that people to train their dogs. This is because they get to learn the various tricks from the same compound that they live in, which makes them feel more comfortable and as a result, the learning becomes more effective.
